    529733_346384965412586_727751654_nCapoeira is a unique martial art, a Brazilian art form born out of oppression and slavery where it was disguised as a dance, a clever way of fooling the slave masters so that the slaves could train. Capoeira is a fusion of Self-Defence, Acrobatics, Music and Fitness. People all over the world now practice Capoeira, some for self-defence, others just for Fitness and lots of Fun!!!!

      Raul first came to Ireland in 2000 from Brazil where hes opened his first Capoeira classes in Galway City.

      personal_training_3In 2006 he moved to Cork City where he went on to open the first Capoeira Academy in Ireland. Raul is a fully qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. He also holds qualifications in Exercise and Health Studies. Also Raul is a personal nutritionist specialising in children’s nutrition. He has always been a sport enthusiast, playing sports such as Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer throughout his life. He was also part of the army in Brazil.
      His certificate is awarded by Ireland’s national training center for fitness instructors, the national college of exercise and health studies, (NCEHS), Dublin, Ireland.

Capoeira helps develop balance, co-ordination, general level of fitness and flexibility, sense of rhythm and awareness of your own body. It is a great physical activity for developing youth. It encourages kids to explore the joys of being active and interactive. Children who practice Capoeira on a regular basis benefit from improved physical and mental abilities as well.
